On Tuesday 22nd of February, Christchurch was shaken by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake ,at 5km deep, at 12.51pm. Many buildings collapsed and lots of people were trapped under the buildings.Cars have been smashed and grounds crumbled.
Unfortunately, many people have died and were injured. Some people were rescued and had to go to hospital. Crushed buildings was the main cause of death. 75 people have died so far.
Due to damage to homes across the city, some people in Christchurch slept in their cars overnight. Others might have slept at the park or on a small field in makeshift accommodation.
There was lots of destruction in the city of Christchurch. Lots of buildings crushed, cars destroyed and lots of damage. Dust and bricks were everywhere, choking the city.
