Netball

“ My first netball game “ I said nervously myself. The yr 4 Netball team got ready. “ Kashya your goal attack “ Mr Jacobsen said to me as he gave me a bib. Then we left, Mrs J and Mr jacobsen drove us to the Netball court.

The game started I stood on the line waiting for the ball. The whistle blew, I got the ball and through it to my team mate. “ Pass the ball “ she said. I was next to the hoop so I shot the ball in the hoop. “ Yay “ I shouted and I gave the ball over to the other team.

It was half time I quickly gave my bib to Mr jacobsen. On second half I was Goal Shot ! The ball went from Center to Goal attack, I had the ball and shot it in the hoop. The game was finished. Mr Jacobsen told us the score. “ 13 - 4 “ Mr Jacobsen said. “ Yay “ My Friends said as we walked to the changing rooms.

My Own World

My world is made out of candy. The clouds are made out off candyfloss and the sun is a giant peach. It rains colorful jellybeans which are yum.

The Pools

Diving into the pool I chocked on a lung full of water. Floating like a starfish, I noticed that my eyes were red. So I blinked away the burn.

Sentence Beginnings

In Room 13 we have been learning about simple sentences and complex sentences. We read Toreka's story called " What an Ambush " to learn about sentence beginnings. We had to highlight the sentence beginnings and copy them in to Wordle.net.

Making a Kite

On Friday morning room 13 made a marble run. We had to get into groups and bring materials from home. My group started to make our marble run as we made our marble run,we kept testing it unfortunately it didn't work but we never gave up. We had to rearrange things like dominoes and tubes. Finlay we got our marble run organized. My group and I made some modifications and we were very proud. So we had to test it. I thought my group did a really good job with this activity.

Straw Bridges

This morning room 13 made a straw bridge,our bridges had to be strong and stable.To make the bridges stable we had to make triangles and stick them on the bridge that we have made.We used straws,sises and sellotape.My group first made little triangles, then we made a long part to stick the triangles on.We also made some triangles for the sides.When we were finished building my group had to clean up.Finally we could test our bridge,to see if it was strong.When everyone was finished we had to see if theres was strong, some off the bridges were strong but some wernt.I had fun making a straw bridge.

Albany Tornado

Yesterday afternoon an adverse weather struck Albany on Auckland's north shore.The tornado happened around 3pm, near a shopping centre.The damage in Albany was so sad.


The tornado was so powerful that cars tipped over and roofs ripped off and were tossed everywhere.Trampolines ended up on roofs and trees were crushed.The tornado was not that big but it was very dangerous. It was not an ordinary day for Albany.

Starw Towers

This morning Room 13 got in to groups of 6 to make Straw Towers, using just 75 straws and a roll of tape.This was a challenge for the first day of Bigger, Better, Faster, Stronger. Me and my group talked about our tower BUT we had a little argument that eventually helped us solve our problems .Then we got on with our work.
We stacked the straws and planed what we were going to do. We steadily cut some straws and sellotaped them. We did this so we could learn how to work as a team and we did this for fun.
My group made a squares tower. It simply just had squares and long straws but it looked really cool.
All of the towers had to be stable but some of them weren't.Using all of the materials we could use we did a pretty good job.
